Membership & Fees

Anyone may join the Revelstoke Visual Arts Society for an annual membership fee of $20.00.   RVAS welcomes artists and craftspeople- professional, recreational and would be artists, as well as supporters, collectors and patrons of the arts.

The Revelstoke Potters Guild members have access to the studio at any time but also work together informally on “Guild nights”. Members pay an annual Guild fee of $125.00 which covers the use of the pottery studio and firing of work. Members buy clay and glazes individually or cooperatively. Members need to have taken some pottery courses and be familiar with using pottery materials and equipment. Members also have to hold a valid RVAS membership.

Painting and Sculpture studios: users pay monthly rent in advance. A valid RVAS membership is required.

The Community Wood Work Shop: users pay monthly rent in advance. They must have a valid RVAS membership and all users are required to take the wood shop safety course.

There is a photography studio for black and white production but currently there is no organized group using the facility. Any materials in this studio are personal materials and not for general use. Persons using this facility are required to hold a valid RVAS membership.

-use of pottery and wood workshops (with proficiency qualification), including access to the building at any time.

-rental of private studio space when available.

-preferred access to solo and small group exhibition space.

-an annual RVAS members exhibition, and numerous ‘call for entry’ or juried exhibitions during the year.

-all exhibitions have an Opening and are well publicized.

-the galleries and the storage room have an alarm system.

-the gallery is supervised when open.

-exhibitions are mounted to professional standards.

-all work can be for sale.

-20% commission on sales of work, non RVAS members pay 30%.

-you can have input into the running and programming of your centre, through making suggestions, sitting on a committee, or being a volunteer.
